Franklin G. 'Frank' Campbell

Franklin G. “Frank” Campbell, 98, of Huntington, IN, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2018, at 9:45 p.m. at The Heritage of Huntington

Mr. Campbell served his country in the United States Navy during World II in the Pacific Theater and participated in five major invasions. He went through Typhoon Cobra in December of 1944. He was one of the founders of the former Millington Truck Body Company, where he spent most of his working career as a salesman and sales manager. He also volunteered at Love INC and had his own bicycle ministry out of his garage. He was a 50-year member of First Baptist Church where he served in many different offices; Gideon’s International, United Commercial Travelers of America and was a past president of Indiana Baptist Men’s Association.

He was born on May 31, 1920, in Marietta, OH, to James O. and Martha J. Scott Campbell. He married Lucy A. Ayers on Dec. 23, 1941, in Belpre, OH, and she preceded him in death on June 23, 2002.

Survivors include a daughter, “Lu” Ellen Reeves, of Huntington, and three grandchildren, Brooke Reeves, Paige Kagin and Stacy Reeves, all of Fort Wayne.

He was preceded in death by a son, James F. Campbell.

Calling is Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2018, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington. A funeral service will be held immediately after calling at 1 p.m. Interment will be at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Huntington County.
