Richard E. Wolfe

Richard E. Wolfe, 86, of Marion, IN, and having family in Huntington, IN, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018, at his son’s home in Anderson, IN.

Mr. Wolfe was a 1951 graduate of Marion High School and had also graduated with a BA from Indiana Wesleyan in Marion.  He attended the Countryside Church. He retired from R.C.A. Thompson in Marion. He was a life member of American Legion Post 10 and Amvets Post 5, both in Marion, and a solider of the Salvation Army.  He served his country in the United States Army.

He was born July 23, 1932, in Marion, to Gerald Wolfe and Doretha Elizabeth Apple Miller. He married Sonia L. Muterspaugh on Aug. 28, 1953, in Bloomfield, and she preceded him in death.

Survivors include two sons, Stephen (Debbie) Wolfe, of Cicero, and Michael (Kathy) Wolfe, of Anderson; two daughters, Rebekah (Mike) Brunk, of Dunnellon, FL, and Erlena (Tim) Emery, of Oldsmar, FL; a sister, Marilyn Berry, of Marion; a brother, Norman E. Wolfe, of Huntington; 12 grandchildren, Kevin Brunk, of Dunnellon, FL; Jeremy Brunk, of Tampa, FL; Tracy Brunk, of Long Island, NY; Adam Emery, of St. Petersburg, FL; Angela Emery, of Palm Harbor, FL; Amanda Emery, of Safety Harbor, FL; Richard Wolfe, of Kansas City, KS; Leigha Grandy, of Salina, KS; Tim Wolfe, of Iowa City, IA; TJ Wolfe, Joey Wolfe and Marcella Wolfe, all of Anderson; and nine great-grandchildren.

Calling is Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018, from 5 p.m.  to 8 p.m. at the Salvation Army, 359 N. Bradner Ave., Marion. A service of celebration will be held Friday, Oct. 26, 2018, at 11 a.m. at the Salvation Army, with Major Michael Wolfe and Rev. Benjamin Parker officiating. Interment will follow in the Marion National Cemetery in Marion. Military rites will be conducted by the U.S. Army.
