Jaryl D. 'Jerry' Grimes

Jaryl Duane “Jerry” Grimes, 79, of Huntington, IN, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2018, at 11:21 p.m. at his home.

Mr. Grimes graduated from Huntington High School in 1957. He worked as a brakeman for the Erie Lackawanna Railroad for more than 25 years and as a dispatcher for the Huntington County Sheriff’s Department for over 16 years.

He was born Jan. 7, 1939, in Huntington to John W. and Janice V. Brown Grimes. He married Karen K. Osburn on Oct. 20, 1965, at Evangelical United Methodist Church in Huntington, and she survives.

Additional survivors include two sons, John A. Grimes, of Bloomington, and Christopher (Heidi) Grimes, of Huntington; two daughters Sally (Gary) Keyser, of Huntington, and Dawn M. Honeycutt, of Sarasota, FL; two sisters, Judy (Fred) Millner and Janifer K. Hadley, both of Huntington; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jacob Vonesch.

Calling is Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2018, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington. A funeral service will follow immediately after at 5 p.m. at the mortuary, with Rev. Dr. Marti Lundy officiating.
