Leona Mae Campbell, 81, of Wabash, IN, and having family in Lagro, IN, died Monday, Dec. 10, 2018 at 7:22 a.m. at Autumn Ridge Health Care in Wabash.
Mrs. Campbell was a 1955 graduate of Wheelwright High School. She worked at General Tire in Wabash for more than 36 years, retiring in 1998. She was a member of Wabash Free Will Baptist Church.
She was born June 7, 1937, in Weeksbury, KY, to Brown and Dora Gillispie Samons. She married Adrian Campbell on Oct. 6, 1956, in Wabash, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 8, 2018.
Survivors include three daughters, Sheree Spradlin, of Jamestown, TN, and Sabrina (John) Preikszas, of Holland, MI; and Shawna Herron, of Wabash; three sons, Mark Campbell, Adrian DeWayne (Bernice) Campbell and Jeremy (Misty) Campbell, all of Wabash; three brothers, George (Karon) Samons, of Lagro; Douglas (Nadine) Samons, of Seneca, SC; and Joseph Samons, of Wabash; two sisters, Mary Ann (Carllus) Adkins of Savannah, TN, and Carolyn Sue Sanders of Littleton, CO; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Thursday, Dec. 13, 2018, at Wabash Free Will Baptist Church, Wabash, with Rev. Tod Masters officiating. Burial was in Falls Cemetery, Wabash.
Memorials are to Wabash Free Will Baptist Church or the Ladies Aid Society of the church.
