Irvin E. 'Pete' Krauhs

Irvin E. “Pete” Krauhs, 94, of Fort Wayne, IN, and having family in Roanoke, IN, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018.

Mr. Krauhs enlisted in the United States Navy after graduating from high school. Early in his years he drove both trolley buses and city buses in Fort Wayne before retiring from over the road truck driving at 87 years old. He had worked for Transport Motors Express and was a member of Teamsters Local 414.  

He was born Aug. 7, 1924, to in Fort Wayne to Walter and Margaret Krauhs.  He married Patricia M. Stein, and she survives after 66 years.

Additional survivors are three sons, Tim (Theresa) Krauhs, of Roanoke, and Jim (Sherry) Krauhs and Kim Krauhs, both of Fort Wayne; five grandchildren, Nicole (Chad) Grieser, Nick Miller, Lindsey (Mike) Singpradith, Audrey May Krauhs and Samuel Pete Krauhs; and three great-grandsons.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Randy Krauhs and Curt Krauhs, and a daughter, Darla Krauhs.   

A funeral service will be held at a later date at Covington Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Rd.
