Glen E. Searles

Glen E. Searles, 85, of Huntington, IN, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018, at his home.

Mr. Searles graduated from Jefferson High School in 1951 and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked for General Motors for more than 33 years before retiring in May 1991. He was a member of Mt. Etna United Methodist Church.

He was born Jan. 14, 1933, in Huntington to Alva L. and Mildred E. Buzzard Searles. He married Lois “Wiladean” Drabenstot on Nov. 3, 1956, in Mt. Etna, and she proceded him in death.

Survivors include two sons, Michael L. Searles, of LaFontaine, and Mark A. Searles of Huntington; a daughter, Melinda A. (Greg) McLaughlin, of Nappanee; three brothers, Herb (Neysa) Searles, of Lebanon; Gene (Pat) Searles, of Huntington; and Ray (Jane) Searles, of Bluffton; two sisters, Mable (Bob) Burnsworth, of Huntington, and Ruth Shenefield, of Wabash; two sisters-in-law, Kim Searles, of Franklin, and Peggy Searles, of LaFontaine; five grandchildren, Ashley (Don) Ball, Carly (Amanda) Searles, Jonathan McLaughlin, Kilah McLaughlin and Patrick McLaughlin; and two great-grandchildren.

Calling is Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington. A funeral service will be held Friday, Dec. 28, 2018, at 10 a.m. at the mortuary, with Rev. Mike Gallant officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will be in Mt. Etna Cemetery in Huntington County.
