Wendell W. Bradford

Wendell W. Bradford, 74, of Warren, IN, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2019, at 9:24 a.m. at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.

Mr. Bradford was a 1962 graduate of Warren High School. He received his master’s degree in elementary education from Huntington University. He began his 35-year teaching career at Auburn for a few years and then moved to Warren School until it closed. He ended his teaching career in 1999 at Salamonie School in Warren.

He coached basketball for several years, was a member of Toastmasters and attended Solid Rock United Methodist Church in Warren.

He was born October 5, 1944, in Bluffton to Hubert F. and Lillian R. Leas Bradford. He married Theresa Breedlove on Dec.8, 2006, in Charlotte, NC, and she survives.

Additional survivors include two sons, Joe (Geni) Bradford, of Claypool, and John (Melissa) Bradford, of Oxford, MI; five brothers, Gene (Sherrill) Bradford, of Auburn; Stanley (Dorothy) Bradford, of Fishers; and Richard (Sheryl) Bradford, William (Marilyn) Bradford and Ron (Judy) Bradford, all of Warren; a sister, Susan (Steve) Campbell, of New Mexico; a mother-in-law, Ellen (Max) Snow, of Bluffton; three grandchildren, Kassie (Jeff) Minich, of Markle, and Jack Bradford and William Bradford, both Oxford, MI; and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a son, Paul Bradford.

Calling is Monday, Jan. 14, 2019, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Solid Rock UMC 485 Bennett Drive, Warren, and on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2019, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.  A service to celebrate his life will follow immediately after at 11 a.m. at the church, with Rev. Paul C. Burris and Mark Vickrey officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Warren.
