Edward E. Kiningham

Edward Eugene Kiningham, 88, of Fort Wayne, IN, and having family in Roanoke, IN, died Wednesday, March 20, 2019.

Mr. Kiningham graduated from Danville High School in 1948 and the University of Illinois in 1952 with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. He worked for General Electric from 1952 to 1992. He served two years in the United States Air Force from 1954 to 1956. He and his wife volunteered with the Red Cross for 10 years after he retired. He also volunteered through General Electric to repair talking books for the blind.

He was born Sept. 12, 1930, in Danville, IL, to Clare and Reba Brown Kiningham. He married Elizabeth “Betty” Lea Caldwell Kiningham on Nov. 2, 1956 in Corpus Christi, TX, and she survives.

Additional survivors include four sons, Thomas Edward (Susan) Kiningham, of Corydon; David Allen (Mary) Kiningham, of Fort Wayne; Paul Byron (Mary Ann) Kiningham, of Roanoke; and John Michael (Rachel) Kiningham, of Houston, TX; a daughter, Ann Elizabeth (Ricky) Phillips,  of Fulton, MI; a brother, Thomas Clare Kiningham, of Danville, IL; 17 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held on Sunday, March 24, 2019, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, Fort Wayne. Burial was in Lindenwood Cemetery in Fort Wayne.

Memorials are to the Red Cross, Grabill Missionary Church or Vertical Life Church in Houston, TX.
