Buddy W. Chapin

Buddy W. Chapin, 75, of Huntington, IN, died Saturday, May 18, 2019, at 7:32 p.m. at his home.

Mr. Chapin served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a sheet metal worker and also worked in heating and air conditioning, retiring after 25 years. He was a member of Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 20 of Fort Wayne and attended Union Church in Huntington.

He was born Dec. 19, 1943, in Huntington to Merle and Mable (Bowman) Chapin. He married Sondra S. Poe on July 17, 1991 in Huntington, and she survives.

Additional survivors include two sons, Stacy (Regina) Chapin and Matthew Chapin, both of Huntington; a daughter, Misty L. (Donnie) Burns, of Huntington; five stepsons, Bob Williamson, Jay (Jill) Williamson, Larry Williamson and Mike Williamson, all of Huntington, and Tony Williamson, of Fort Wayne; a stepdaughter, Kim (Paul) Miller, of Huntington; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Marjorie Manning; a stepson, Scott Hill; a grandson, Andy Williamson; and a granddaughter, Ashlye Williamson.

Calling is Thursday, May 23, 2019, from 3 p.m. to 7 pm. at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington. A funeral service will be held Friday, May 24, 2019, at 10 a.m. at the mortuary, with Rev. Mark Hoffer officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory in Huntington County, with military graveside rites performed by VFW Post 2689 of Huntington.
