Jackie J. 'Jackie Jo' Godfroy

Jack  J. “Jackie Jo” Godfroy, 75, of Huntington, IN, died Monday, June 10, 2019, at Visiting Nurse & Hospice, Fort Wayne.  

Mr. Godfroy graduated from Huntington Catholic High School.  He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked at City Beverage and retired in 1999.  Prior to City Beverage he worked for the Huntington Fire Department.  He was a member of the Miami Indian Tribe of Oklahoma, St. Mary Catholic Church in  Huntington and a life and 1st Degree member of the Knights of Columbus 1014, VFW Post 2689 and American Legion Post 7, all in Huntington.  

He was born Dec. 7, 1943, in Huntington to Ralph E. “Bud” and Halcyon J. McClurg Godfroy.

Survivors include a daughter, Carrie (Joshua) Salter, of Huntington;  three stepsons, Todd Foor, of Columbia City; Mike (Cheryl) Foor, of Huntington; and John (Mary) Foor; of Fort Wayne; two stepdaughters, Kim (Dave) Working, of LaFontaine and Nikki (Ray) Pearson, of Huntington; two grandchildren, Taylor Godfroy, of Huntington, and Nathaniel Godfroy, of Kokomo; 11 stepgrandchildren; one great-grandchild; and 13 stepgreat-grandchildren.

Calling is Thursday, June 13, 2019, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at McElhaney- Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington. Recitation of the Rosary will be immediately following call at 7 pj.m., with Rev. Stephen Colchin. Additional calling hours will be held on Friday, June 14, 2019, prior to Mass, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 14, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 903 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN with Fr. Stephen Colchin officiating. Burial with military honors will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington.
