Mark E. Bartrom

Mark E. Bartrom, 91, of Wabash, IN, and formerly of Huntington, IN, died Thursday, June 20, 2019, at 5:12 p.m. at Miller’s Merry Manor East, Wabash, after an extended illness.

Mr. Bartrom was a graduate of Huntington Catholic High School.  He served in the United States Navy during World War II.  He was a Supervisor at General Electric in Fort Wayne.  He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, past commander at American Legion Post 7 and a member of the VFW 2689.

He was born Sept. 19, 1927, in Huntington to Charles and Goldie Braden Bartrom. He married Barbara Williamson on March 29, 1948, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Huntington, and she preceded him in death on Feb. 18, 2018.     

Survivors include a daughter, Kimberly A. Pinkerton, of Wabash; a son, Bret A. (Sylvia) Bartrom, of Anchorage, AK; 19 grandchildren;and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four sons, Howard J. Bartrom, Steven W. Bartrom, Daniel W. Bartrom and Baby Bartrom.

Calling is Tuesday, June 25, 2019, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 903 N. Jefferson St., Huntington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held immediately following calling at 11 a.m. at the church, with Rev. Stephen Colchin presiding.  Military Honors will immediately follow the Mass at the church. Burial will be at a later date at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington.
