Ethel M. Shaver

Ethel Marie Shaver, 96, Marion, IN, and having ties to LaFontaine, IN, died July 8, 2019, at 1:30 a.m. at Wesleyan Health and Rehabilitation Center in Marion.

Mrs. Shaver worked in packaging for 27 years with St. Regis Paper Products, formerly Superior Paper Ware. She was a member of Twin City Bible Baptist Church. She was also a member of Extra Years of Zest (XYZ) within the church.

She was born May 20, 1923, in LaFontaine to Homer and Elsie Pinkerton Forrester. She married John Shaver on Jan. 5, 1942, and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include a daughter, Peggy (Don) Simpson, of Marion; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Shaver, of Mishawaka; five grandchildren, Cathy Simpson, of Marion; Scott (Lisa) Shaver, of Mishawaka; Troy (Missy) Simpson, of Jonesboro; Andy (Joey) Simpson, of Woodruff, SC; and Jeff (Lavon) Simpson, of Fortville; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Robert L. Shaver.

Calling is Friday, July 12, 2019, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City. A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 13, 2019, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Mark Helm officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Sweetser.
