Duane L. Siders

Duane L. Siders, 71, of Lagro, IN, and having family in Huntington County, IN, died Saturday, Aug. 3, 2019, at 11:26 a.m., at Miller's Merry Manor East in Wabash due to complications from a stroke.  

Mr. Siders was a 1966 graduate of Northfield High School. He was a United States Navy veteran, serving in the Mediterranean and Vietnam aboard the USS Meredith 890 as a second class radioman. He worked several years at CMI in Wabash as head of the CMM department, and retired from Symmetry Medical in Warsaw in 2014 as the programming and training head for geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. He was a member of the American Dairy Goat Association for 27 years.

He was born Nov. 18, 1947, in Wabash to Don and Mary Brinson Siders. He married Carole Coldren in Richvalley on Jan. 18, 1972, and she survives.

Additional survivors are two daughters, Judie (Todd) Branham, of Andrews, and Penne (Jeff) Geisleman, of Huntington; three brothers, Phillip (Peggy) Siders, of Lagro; Ed (Kathe) Siders, of Spring, TX, and Mark (Camille) Siders, of Ashland, OR; a sister, Janet (David) Jones, of Taylor, TX; a brother-in-law, Samuel Coldren, of Richvalley; four grandchildren, Lacy Good, of Fort Wayne; Sarah Good of Huntington; and Shane Branham and Tyler Branham, both of Andrews; two stepgrandchildren, Michelle Delagrange, of Shirley, and Aaron Geisleman, of Huntington; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a step-grandson, Tyler Geisleman.

Calling is Thursday, Aug. 8, 2019, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash. A memorial service will be held Friday, Aug. 9, 2019, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Melissa Rice officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Marion.
