Lamoine A. 'Scotty' Scott

Lamoine A. "Scotty" Scott, 90, formerly of Wabash, IN, and having ties to Lagro, IN, died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2019, at 2:27 p.m. at Peabody Retirement Community, in North Manchester, where he had lived the past five years.

Mr. Scott was a 1948 graduate of Lagro High School, and attended Purdue University in Fort Wayne for five years. He served eight years in the United States Naval Reserves during the Korean War. He retired from General Tire, where he was an industrial engineer, in 1987 after 36 years, and ended his working career at Ford Meter Box in Wabash, after six years. He was a member of the Wabash First United Methodist Church, a life member of the Hanna Masonic Lodge 61, a life member of the Wabash Elks 471 and a member of the North Webster American Legion.

Mr. Scott was a former member of the American Institute of Industrial Engineers and a former Board Member of the Wabash Country Club. He coached the Little League Blackhawks for five years, and managed the Pony League White Sox for three years.

He was born March 28, 1929, in Lagro to Charles L. and Helen Burnworth Scott. He married Saralee "Sally" Reahard on Dec. 9, 1951,at the First United Methodist Church in Wabash, and she survives.

Additional survivors include a daughter, Jane Bellinger, of North Manchester; two sons, Steven A. (Laura Baer) Scott, of Castle Rock, CO, and Stan L. (Kim) Scott, of Belleville, IL; a brother-in-law, Tom Zook, of Auburn; three grandsons, Jason (Kylie) Scott, of Olive Branch, MS; Ryan (Cregan Ortner) Scott, of Steamboat Springs, CO; and Collin (Caylin) Scott, of Denver, CO; and a great-granddaughter.

Calling is Saturday, Aug. 17, 2019, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash. A funeral service will follow immediately after calling at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Nathan Whybrew officiating. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery, Wabash.

Preferred memorial is to Peabody Caring Circle.
