James 'Richard' Wine

James “Richard” Wine, 94, of Huntington, IN, died Friday, Oct. 11, 2019, at 7:12 a.m. at Tipton Place in Huntington.

Mr. Wine graduated from Huntington Township High School in 1943 and served in the United States Army during World War II. He worked for Farm Bureau Co-Op in Huntington for 20 years. He also worked at Huntington Lab, Transport Motor Express in Fort Wayne and Western Wheel in Huntington. He was a member of Huntington First Church of the Nazarene.

He was born Aug. 30, 1925, in Huntington to Miner and Dessie Schaffer Wine. He married Wilma Maxine Wesco on July 13, 1946, in Huntington, and she preceded him in death on June 4, 2016.

Survivors include two daughters, Diana (Patrick) Healey, of Okemos, MI, and Dorene (Don) Cozad, of Zionsville; three sons, David (Teri) Wine, of Auburn; Daniel Wine, of Grand Haven, MI; and Dale Wine, of Huntington; three sisters, Elsie (Dean) Reckard and Helen Jane (Donald) Shank, both of Huntington, and Clara Eileen (Max) Beck, of North Manchester; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two grandsons, Sean Healey and Anthony Wine, and a stepgranddaughter, Danielle Dolby.

Calling is Monday, Oct. 14, 2019, at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2019, at 10 a.m. at Bailey-Love Mortuary, with Rev. Raymond Scribner officiating. There will be one hour of calling prior to the service. Entombment will be in Gardens of Memory in Huntington County, with military graveside rites performed by VFW Post 2689 of Huntington.
