Donna B. Hinen

Donna B. Hinen, 85, of Fort Wayne, IN, and formerly of Huntington County, IN, died Monday, Oct. 21, 2019, at 5:20 p.m. at Signature Care.

Mrs. Hinen was raised in Jefferson Township in rural Whitley County, where she attended Jefferson Center High School. She then attended Ravenscroft Beauty College. She and her husband moved to Angola in 1979 before moving to North Fort Meyers in 1992. She moved back to Indiana after her son died in 2009. She was a cook at various truck stops and golf courses, including the Angola Golf Course for more than10 years. She had been a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Roanoke and Angola.

She was born May 17, 1934, in Huntington County to Harley A. Sheets and Mary C. Hine Beaver. She married Harry J. Hinen on Nov. 4, 1950, in Roanoke, and he preceded her in death in 2006.

Survivors include two daughters, Jackie (David) McKee, of Fort Wayne, and Cathy Pippin, of Bristol, VA; two sons, Joseph (Deb) Hinen, of Auburn, and Richard Hinen of Kingsport, TN; a sister, Gloria Hobbs, of Larwill; and 75 grandchildren, great- grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Tamara Hinen and Connie Gordon; a son, Harry James Hinen Jr.; and two grandsons, Harley Davidson Pippin and Rob Minnick.

Calling is Friday, Oct. 25, 2019, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. A funeral service will be held Saturday, Oct. 26, 2019, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with Funeral Celebrant Sharon Brockhaus officiating. Entombment will be at Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
