Frank A. Eads

Frank Alan Eads, 94, of Warren, IN, died Dec. 20, 2019, at Heritage Pointe in Warren.

He spent most of his life in Princeton before moving to Warren in 2008. Upon graduating from Princeton High School in December 1943, Mr. Eads enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps. He served as a fire control technician for the B-29 Superfortress.  He was honorably discharged on March 12, 1946. Along with his father and brother, Mr. Eads hauled oil rig equipment in the post-war oil boom, then he owned and operated Kern Motor Express and formed Eads Realty.  In 1962 he joined the Indiana State Board of Tax Commissioners as a field representative, becoming supervisor for the Southern Indiana District in December 1977.  He retired from that position in 1989.  

He was born Nov. 22, 1925, in Pike County to John R. and Elma Kirk Eads. He married Frankie Lu Belcher on Sept. 7, 1947, and she preceded him in death.   

Survivors include a son, John W. (Patsy) Eads, of Brandon, MS; a daughter, Laura (Robert) Berghoff, of Wolcottville; six grandchildren, Alan K. Eads, of Houston, TX; Bradley E. (Kate) Berghoff and Rebecca A. (Rick) Scheer, both of Carmel; Neil K. Eads, of Green Bay, WI; Jeffrey R. Berghoff, of Dyersburg, TN; and Emily K. Eads, of Oxford, MS; and two great-grandchildren.

Calling is Sunday, Dec. 29, 2019, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Heritage Pointe Chapel in Warren, immediately followed by a service of celebration at 4 p.m., with Gerald Moreland officiating. Interment will be Monday, Dec. 30, at 2 p.m. in Maple Hill Cemetery in Princeton.
