Vernon L. Pratt

Vernon Loy Pratt, 76, of rural Wabash, IN, and having family in Huntington, died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2020, at 12:18 a.m., at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.

Mr. Pratt worked at General Tire/Trelleborg in Wabash and Peru, retiring after 41 years, and also worked 15 years at Crystal Flash in Wabash. He was a member of the Church of Christ at Treaty.

He was born July 4, 1943, in Wabash to Walter and Mary Lewis Pratt. He married Ada M. Creecy in Centerville, MI, on Aug. 29, 1961, and she survives.

Additional survivors are a son, Mark (Becky) Pratt. of Wabash; a daughter, Diana (Charlie) Hunt, of LaFontaine; a brother, Herbert Pratt, of Bluefield, WV; two sisters, Marilyn (Max) Benson, of Princeton, WV, and Janice (Gerry) Brakkee, of California; five grandchildren, Brittany (Ben) Brubaker, Amanda (Mikey) Stevenson, Cassandra Diskey and Chase Hunt, all of Wabash, and Emma Hunt, of LaFontaine; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by grandson, Logan Hunt.

Calling is Saturday, Feb. 15, 2020, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash. A funeral service will follow immediately after at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with Ryan Weaver and Leon Kirk officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash.
