Ralph J. Bieghler

Ralph J. Bieghler, 94, of Huntington, IN, died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2020, at 9:26 a.m. at Heritage Pointe of Huntington.

Mr. Bieghler attended Huntington Township High School and served in the Battery C 202nd Antiaircraft Artillery AW Battalion in the United States Army during World War II, earning the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon and a Bronze Star. He retired after 40 years as a chemist at Schacht Rubber and Lydall Company. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 2689 of Huntington, a member of Disabled American Veterans and a member of Amity Masonic Lodge 483 F&AM and the Scottish Rite Valley of Fort Wayne.

He was born July 19, 1925, to Rollie and Coral Bright Bieghler  in Peru. He married Mae E. Hoover on Oct. 21, 1943, in Huntington, and she preceded him in death on June 19, 2017.

Survivors include a son, Philip W. (Sylvia) Bieghler, of Fishers; a daughter, Susan (Mark) Christman, of Andrews; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Norman Bieghler.

 Calling is Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2020, from 10 a.m. to noon at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington. A funeral and Masonic services will immediately follow atnoon at the mortuary, with Rev. Brian Cobb officiating. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery in Huntington County, with military graveside rites performed by VFW Post 2689 of Huntington.
