Paul E. Swain

Paul E. Swain, 71, of Roanoke, IN, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2020, at Markle Health & Rehabilitation, Markle.

Mr. Swain was a 1967 graduate of Huntington High School.  He was the superintendent of utilities for the Town of Roanoke for 38 years.  

He was born Nov. 2, 1948, in Huntington to William O. and Edna Wall Swain.  He married Vickie Baumgardner on Dec. 6, 1986, and she survives.   

Additional survivors include two sons, Joshua W. Swain, of Huntington, and Joseph A. Swain, of Columbus, OH; two daughters, Nanette Hardcastle, of Albion, and Jennell (Tom) O’Hare, of Fort Wayne; a stepson, Tyson (Jill) Biehl, of Huntington; a stepdaughter, Tonya Ptak, of Huntington; three sisters, Tonya (Gary) Buzzard, of Warren; Trudy Swain, of Denver, CO; and Cindy (Bob) Dillahay, of Fishers; a stepsister, Cindy Carter, of Indianapolis; 13 grandchildren, Brett Swain, Michael O’Hare, Daniel O’Hare, Thomas O’Hare, Will Swain, Livia Swain, Lee Hardcastle, Madison Ptak, Mason Ptak, Caydnce Biehl and Jaedyn Biehl; and one great-grandchild.

Calling is Thursday, Feb. 27, 2020, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington. Additional calling hours will be held Friday, Feb. 28, 2020, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed immediately after by the funeral service at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Kurt Snyder officiating. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery, Roanoke.
