Margaret L.E. Hahn

Margaret Lottie Ellen Hahn, 88, of Markle, IN, died Wednesday, March 11, 2009, at 3:15 p.m. at Heritage Pointe, in Warren.

Mrs. Hahn had operated Margaret's Beauty Salon for 30 years. She had also worked as a beautician at the Micklitsch Beauty Salon and cut residents' hair at the Fort Wayne State School for several years. She was a member of Psi Iota Xi Sorority and a member of the First Baptist Church.

She was a graduate of Jackson Township High School and received her beautician's training at Wayne University, graduating in 1946.

She was born Feb. 24, 1921, in Wells County to Dustin E. and Violet Lucille Matson Spaulding. She married William F. Hahn on Aug. 5, 1944, in Norfolk, VA. Her husband preceded her in death on March 5, 2004.

Survivors include two daughters, Sandra K. (Jim) Mossburg, of Markle, and Melba Sue Hahn, of San Antionio, TX; two brothers, Gene Spaulding, of Fort Wayne, and Oliver "Skip" Spaulding, of Albuquerque, NM; a sister, Betty Bell, of Hartford City; and three granddaughters, Angela Sue Kaye (Marty) Kelsey and Annette (E.J.) Carroll, both of Huntington, and Angenette (Lane) Reed, of Markle; and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Saturday, March 14, 2009, at Thoma/Rich, Chaney & Lemler Funeral Home, Bluffton, with Gerald Moreland officiating. Burial was at Elm Grove Cemetery, Bluffton.
