Raymond D. Holzheuer

Raymond D. Holzheuer, 92, of Warren, IN, died Thursday, May 21, 2020, at 2:48 a.m. at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.

Mr. Holzheuer was a 1945 graduate of Banquo High School in Huntington County. He joined the United States Navy shortly after high school, where he served during World War II. After active duty, he continued to serve his country for 10 years in the National Guard. He was the owner and operator of Ray's TV in Warren for many years. He was a member of LOFT (League of Flight by Thermal), a model airplane club in Fort Wayne. He was a member of the Warren Church of Christ, where he formerly served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, board member and passed communion every Sunday for several years.
 
He was born Aug. 17, 1927, in Ruthven, IA, to Henry and Blanche Holzheuer. He married Beverly Herring on Sept. 4, 1949, at her parent’s house in Marion, and she survives.

Additional survivors include a son, Terry Lee (Connie) Holzheuer, of Huntington; two daughters, Rae Jean (Curt) Corle, of Bluffton, and Karla (Vern) Ralston, of Warren; nine grandchildren, Robert Holzheuer, James Holzheuer, Lauren Urschel, Candace Beatty, Rachel Quillen, Kristen Bosworth, Hillary Chaney, Quentin Ralston and Collins Ralston; and 10 great-grandchildren.
 
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Patty Ann Holzheuer.
 
Calling is Tuesday, May 26, 2020, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Glancy-H. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 203 N. Matilda St., Warren. A service of celebration will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2020, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Ethan Stivers officiating. Calling will be held for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Gardens of Memory in rural Marion (Huntington County).
