Edward J. Stoffel

Edward J. Stoffel, 85, of Huntington, IN, died Wednesday, July 22, 2020, at Parkview Regional Hospital in Fort Wayne.

Mr. Stoffel was a 1953 graduate of Huntington Catholic High School. He graduated from Purdue University in 1958 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. He retired from Magnavox, where he worked for 35 years. He was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Huntington.

He was born on Oct. 25, 1934, in Huntington, to August N. and Agnes M. Ufheil Stoffel. He married Marilyn Kapp on Aug. 31, 1957, at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. She survives and resides in Huntington.

Additional survivors include five sons, Daniel Stoffel, of Huntington, Bernard (Michelle) Stoffel, of Huntington, Matthew (Jamie) Stoffel, of Roanoke, David Stoffel, of Huntington, and Benjamin (Amy) Stoffel, of Hershey, PA; three daughters, Deborah (Dan) Scheiber, of Huntington, Judith Shaw, of Huntington, and Rachel (Chad) Brumbaugh, of Huntington; one sister, Marilyn (Ron) Mitten, of Beach Park, IL; 25 grandchildren; and 39 great-grandchildren.

Calling will be held on Monday, July 27, 2020, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington.

Recitation of the Rosary will be Tuesday, July 28, 2020, at 10 a.m. at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, located at 860 Cherry St., Huntington, with a funeral service to follow at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington.
