Michael David Kocher

Michael David Kocher, 75, of Huntington, IN, died Friday, July 24, 2020, at 10:43 a.m. at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.

He attended Huntington High School and International Business College. He served in the United States Army for two tours during the Vietnam War. He worked as a Journeyman at Noll Printing in Huntington for 19 years. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 2689 and Etna Avenue Wesleyan Church; he was currently attending St. Peter’s First Community Church in Huntington.
 
Mr. Kocher was born on Jan. 3, 1945, in Huntington to Paul D. and Edna Veilhauer Kocher. He married Sharon S. Ervin on March 18, 1972, in Huntington, and she survives in Huntington.

Additional survivors include a son, Paul (Elaine Wood) Kocher, of Elkhart; a daughter, Shannon (Jeffrey) Thames, of Houston, TX; and three sisters, Doris Goodyear, of Warren, Miriam Dudek, of Melbourne, FL, and Peggy Cousins, of Sebring, FL.

Calling will be Friday, July 31, 2020, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington. A funeral service will immediately follow at 12 p.m. at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Rev. Tom Bradley officiating. Military funeral rites will be performed by VFW Post 2689 of Huntington.

Those in attendance are asked to follow local recommendations for face coverings and social distancing during all events.
