Garland L. Wilcox

Garland L. Wilcox, 90, of North Manchester, IN, died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2020, at Timbercrest Healthcare Center in North Manchester.

Mr. Wilcox served in the U.S. Army and was a Korean War veteran. He was wounded in action and received a Purple Heart for his heroism.

He was born on Sept. 19, 1930, in Wabash County, to Ernest and Amelia Rickert Wilcox. He married Lois J. Hapner on Dec. 31, 1953, and she preceded him in death. They were married for 27 years.

Survivors include a son, Randall (Jan) Wilcox, of Etna Green; a daughter, Deborah (Luke) Sorg, of Huntington; a brother, Ernest Junior Wilcox, of North Manchester; five grandchildren, Bryan (Mercedes) Wilcox, of Valparaiso, Angie (Shane) Meadows, of Elkhart, Katie Wilcox, of Elkhart,  Eric (Jay) Bunner-Sorg, of Orlando, FL, and Craig (Stephanie) Sorg, of Roanoke; and seven great-grandchildren.

A private celebration of life service is pending. The family has entrusted McKee Mortuary with final arrangements.
