Kenneth A. Gillespie, 63, of Marion, IN, and with family in Markle, IN, died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2020, at Marion General Hospital.
Mr. Gillespie worked in maintenance and as a machinist at RCA for 26 years. He delivered campers for Star Fleet and then was a bus driver for the city of Marion until 2019. He was a lifetime member of the Sons of Amvets Post No. 5 in Marion, the Sons of American Legion Post No. 10 in Marion and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 1778 in Gas City. He volunteered for Help the Hopeful for many years.
He was born on Aug. 9, 1957, in Marion, to Paul and Mary Etta Rennaker Gillespie.
He is survived by his life partner, Julia Sparks, of Marion; and extended family, Dixie (Mark) Oldham of Markle, and Rita Kaehr, of Decatur.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 9, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Raven-Choate funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion.
