Richard L. Floyd, 93, of Huntington, IN, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 2021, at the Heritage of Huntington.
He was born on Aug. 9, 1927, in Rockford, to Charles and Nellie Smith Floyd. He married Barbara Miller on Feb. 11, 1953, in Bluffton. She preceded him in death on Dec. 7, 2013.
Mr. Floyd graduated from Huntington High School in 1945. He served in the Merchant Marines U. S. Coast Guard. He was a self-employed Crop Insurance Agent. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was an active member of the Parkview Huntington Family YMCA.
He is survived by six nieces; five nephews; and a brother-in-law, Richard (Diane) Miller, of Andrews.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, at 10 a.m., at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Huntington, with Rev. Lois Cannon officiating. McElhaney- Hart Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
