Daniel DeLaGrange, 63, of Huntington, IN, died on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020, at 3:24 p.m., at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
Mr. DeLaGrange was a graduate of Huntington Catholic High School. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fort Wayne and was also a third degree member of Knights of Columbus. He worked at Bircraft for 25 years and then became the Lay Pastoral Minister at St. Mary Catholic Church for over 25 years. He taught CCD, Adult Formation classes and eighth grade religious education at Huntington Catholic School. He was the Right to Life Treasurer for several years and continued to volunteer with Right to Life.
He was born on July 19, 1957, in Fort Wayne, to Terry L. and Mary J. Garrison DeLaGrange. His mother survives. He married Dorothy Shockome DeLaGrange on April 15, 1978. She survives in Huntington.
Additional survivors include three sons, Nathan (Madison) DeLaGrange, of Greenfield, Adam (Heather) DeLaGrange of Huntington, and Jacob (Taylor) DeLaGrange of Huntington; one daughter, Danielle (Kelli) DeLaGrange, of Huntington; four brothers, David (Paula) DeLaGrange, Mark (Candy) DeLaGrange, Michael (Candy) DeLaGrange and Brian DeLaGrange, all of Huntington; 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Tracy Buzzard.
Calling will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, from 3 to 6 p.m., at St. Mary Catholic Church, 903 N. Jefferson St., Huntington. A rosary service will immediately follow the calling. COVID-19 protocol requires masks and social distancing.
A private funeral mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Fort Wayne, with Rev. Dominic Sovoie presiding. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Huntington. McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made for the DeLaGrange Family to help defray funeral costs, in care of McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home.
