Evelyn J. Elsten, 90, of Huntington, IN, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021, at 11:58 a.m., at Heritage Pointe of Warren.
Mrs. Elsten was a 1948 graduate of Huntington Township High School. She worked as a bookkeeper and switchboard operator at Community State Bank, Lincoln National Bank and Norwest Bank. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Huntington, where she was previously a member of the Nazarene Band.
She was born on Feb. 28, 1930, in Lima, OH, to Fred Cosart and Edna Holland Cosart. She was first married to Gene Abner. He preceded her in death. She then married Earl Elsten in Huntington; he also preceded her in death.
Survivors include three daughters, Debbie (Curt) Day, of Warren, Jeanine (Jim) Harmon, of Garland, TX, and Karen (Larry) Poling, of Huntington; a sister, Shirley (Don) Dinius, of Huntington; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Monday, Jan. 11, 2021, at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Huntington.
