Vernon Leroy Rumple, 81, of Marion, IN, and formerly of Huntington, IN, died Thursday, Jan. 28, 2021, at 10:30 p.m., at him home.
Mr. Rumple graduated from Van Buren High School and worked as a truck driver with Champion Target, retiring in 2001.
He was born on May 25, 1939, in Van Buren, to George and Luella Lobdell Rumple. He was previously married to Janet Rumple. She preceded him in death. He then married to Karen Seemann on Sept. 14, 1985. She survives.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Cynthia K. (David) Linn and Lisa L. (James) Yarger; three sons, Michael S. (Davina) Rumple, Gerald (Vicki) Mortimer and Brent R Mortimer; two sisters, Sandra Haworth and Nila Burnside; a brother, Ronald (Susan) Rumple; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Calling will take place on Friday, Feb. 5, from noon to 2 p.m., with a celebration of life following immediately after at Van Buren Central Christian Church, 201 S. 1st St., Van Buren. Rev. Tony Miner will officiate. Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
Burial will take place at Van Buren Cemetery.
