Gene G. Beghtel, 82, of Fort Wayne, IN, and with ties to Warren, IN, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2021, at Parkview Regional Medical Center. Fort Wayne.
Mr. Beghtel graduated from South Side High School in 1957. He served his country in the US Navy on the USS Boxer (CVS-21). His memberships included Gethsemane Lutheran Church, St. Michaels Lutheran Church, American Legion Post No. 47 and VFW Post No. 11438 in Leo. He worked for Bob Luderman Associates Inc. for 20 years and retired in 2001. Before moving back to Fort Wayne in 2019, he sold real estate in Florida. Most recently he was employed by Granite Ridge Builders in Fort Wayne.
He was born March 25, 1938, in Warren, IN, to Guy and Mildred Beghtel. He was married to June Beghtel for 60 years. She survives in Fort Wayne.
Additional survivors include one son, David G. (Lori) Beghtel, of Albion; three daughters, Dawn T. (James) Wagoner, of Columbia City, Danielle T (Scott) Cummings, of Fort Wayne, and Daianna T. (Gary) Hamilton, of Bozeman, MT; three sisters, Carol J. Sims, of Homosassa, Fl, Janet R. Bresler, of Groton, SD, and Jaci A. DiGregory, of Fort Wayne; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Private burial will take place at Greenlawn Cemetery, Fort Wayne, at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne.
