Robert A. Koehlinger, 87, of Warren, IN, died Friday, Feb. 26, 2021, at 8 p.m., at Heritage Pointe in Warren.
Mr. Koehlinger graduated from Huntington High School in 1951 and Indiana Tech in 1961. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1952 to 1956. He worked as an engineer at MagneTek in Huntington and Goodland, for 33 years. He retired in 1995. He moved to Venice, FL, where he worked for Nielsen Media Research for 10 years before returning to Huntington in 2006. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Warren. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge of Venice, FL, the American Legion and VFW of Huntington, and a member of the South Venice Yacht Club. He also volunteered at Parkview Hospital.
He was born on Oct. 19, 1933, in Fort Wayne, to Christian and Mary Koehlinger. He married Janet Riggs Andrew on Dec. 30, 1961, at the Presbyterian Church, Huntington. She survives in Warren.
Additional survivors include three daughters, Pamela (Michael) Callahan, of North Manchester, Dawn Costin, of Columbus, OH, and Cathy (Gary) Bilsland, of Carmel; a son, Christopher (Melissa) Koehlinger; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Souder and Emmalou Dinken; a brother-in-law, Stuart Dinken; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, David Costin.
Calling will take place on Saturday, March 6, from 1 to 2 p.m., with a funeral service following immediately after at Bailey-Love Mortuary. Rev. Gerald Mooreland will officiate. Masks and social distancing are required.
