Maradel A. Snowden, 89, of Huntington, IN, died Saturday, March 20, 2021, at 8:23 a.m., at Heritage Pointe of Huntington.
Mrs. Snowden was a 1949 graduate of Union Center School. She worked at Woolworth's Dime Store out of high school and then as a clerical assistant at her father's grain elevator, Simpson Grain Co. She attended the Huntington Church of the Nazarene and was a member of the Nazarene Band. From 1981 to 2006, she worked alongside her husband in the sign business they created together called J & M Signs. She volunteered with The Red Cross.
She was born on April 29, 1931, in Huntington, to Glen and Merlie Jarvis Pasko. She married Jack Snowden on Jan. 15, 1950. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Kim (Kathy) Snowden, and Lonnie Snowden, both of Huntington; a sister, Marjorie (Maurie) Reed, of Huntington; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathie Halsey, and a grandson, Johnny Halsey.
Calling will take place on Saturday, March 27, 2021, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Huntington First Church of the Nazarene, 1555 Flaxmill Road, Huntington. Bailey-Love Mortuary, Huntington, is in charge of arrangements.
A celebration of life service will immediately follow the calling with Rev. Bobby Kemp officiating.
Private burial will be in Star of Hope Cemetery, in Huntington County.
