George A. Ness, 90, of Huntington, IN, died Monday, March 29, 2021, at St. Anne – Victory Noll Nursing Home, Huntington.Mr. Ness was a 1948 graduate of Roanoke High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He worked as a broker and auctioneer with Ness Bros. and retired in 1984. He was also a seed broker and farmer auctioneer. He was a past member of the Kiwanis and a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. He was also a life member of VFW No. 2689 and American Legion in Roanoke and in Florida. He was born on Oct. 5, 1930, in Huntington, to George A. and Mary Palmer Ness. He married Phyllis Reust on Jan. 23, 1954, at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Huntington. She preceded him in death on Aug. 10, 2020. Survivors include two sons, Tim (Renee) Ness, of Andrews, and Tom (Jackie) Ness, of Columbia City; two brothers, Carl (Sondra) Ness, and Steve (Sherill) Ness, both of Huntington; one sister, Mary Ann Ness; four grandchildren, Andy Ness, Tyler Ness, Kaitlyn Ness and Courtney Ness; and one great-grandchild, Kerrigan Ness Duncan. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Ness.
Recitation of the Rosary will take place on Tuesday, April 6, at 4 p.m., followed by the calling hours until 7 p.m., at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, Huntington. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, April 7, at 10 a.m., at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 860 Cherry St., Huntington, with Rev.
