DeWayne W. Lusch, 93, of Huntington, IN, died Sunday, March 28, 2021, at 2:45 a.m., at Oakbrook Village in Huntington.
Mr. Lusch worked at Baldwin Hill Isolation. Later, he worked as a custodian and in maintenance for Huntington County School Corporation for 41 years. During that time he also ran his own saw filing business. After retiring he worked as a crossing guard at Central School. He was a member of the First Brethren Church where he served as a deacon.
He was born on July 18, 1927, in Huntington, to Sylvester and Nellie Griffith Lusch. He married Patricia Redding on Nov. 27, 1948, in Huntington. She preceded him in death on June 23, 2019.
Survivors include two sons, Michael (Vicki) Lusch and Robert (Beth) Lusch, both of Huntington; two daughters, Marjorie (Dennis) Teusch and Diana (Ed) Guldice, both of Huntington; a sister, Janet (June) Walker, of Huntington; 12 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 44 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jane Bowers; a grandson, Christopher Lusch; and four great-grandchildren.
Calling will take place on Wednesday, March 31, from 2 to 7 p.m., at Deal-Rice Funeral Home- Huntington Chapel.
A funeral service will take place on Thursday, April 1, at 11 a.m., at the funeral home, with Rev. Gus Hacker officiating. There will be one hour of calling prior to the service.
Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, Huntington County.
