Maynard Eugene Vollmer, 93, of North Manchester, IN, and with family in Markle, IN, died March 25, 2021, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.
Mr. Vollmer served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He previously worked at Oswego Supermarket in Oswego. He owned Maynard’s Men’s Shop in North Manchester. He was a charter member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Warsaw and attended St. John’s Lutheran Church. He was a member of Kiwanis in North Manchester and the American Legion Post No. 49 in Warsaw.
He was born on Nov. 15, 1927, to Urban G. and Cleo R. Schrader Vollmer. He married Barbara Jean Robinson on Aug. 18, 1950. She preceded him in death on July 13, 2010.
Survivors include three daughters, Christine (Charles) Jones, of Markle, Amy (Michael) Isenberg, of Fort Wayne, and Ruth (Thomas) LaSalle, of Leesburg; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Calling took place Monday, March 29, 2021, from 10 a.m. to noon, at McKee Mortuary, 1401 SR-114W, North Manchester. A funeral service immediately followed the calling with Rev. David Mommens officiating.
Burial took pace at Leesburg Cemetery, 653W-675N, Leesburg.
