Brian “Bibby” David McCoy

Brian “Bibby” David McCoy, 48, formerly of Van Wert, OH, and with ties to Huntington, IN, died Saturday, March 27, 2021, at the University of Michigan Hospital.

Mr. McCoy graduated from Van Wert High School in 1991, where he was a wrestler and played football and baseball. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council 1014, Huntington.  He was also a member of the Council Bowling team. He participated in the Transplant Olympic Games in Cleveland, OH, in 2016, and won silver and gold medals for bowling.

He was born on Oct. 6, 1972, in Van Wert, OH, to Mike McCoy and Barbara Waltz Owens. They survive. He married Heidi Goble on June 22, 2004, in Huntington. She survives.

Additional survivors include six children, Mitchell (Janelle) Stauffer, of Lancaster, SC, Morgan Felger, of Waynesville, OH, Brandon (Jessica) Broxon, of Shaw AFB, SC, Brittney McCoy, of Van Wert, OH, Logan Jewel, of Baumholder, Germany, and Kyla McCoy, of Albion; and seven grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will take place on Monday, April 24, 2021, at 1 p.m., at the Knights of Columbus in Huntington.
