Janet M. Slusher

Janet M. Slusher, 82, of Warren, IN, died Monday, May 10, 2021, at Heritage Pointe in Warren.

Mrs. Slusher attended Warren High School. She was a homemaker and worked in dietary for the United Methodist Memorial Home for 20 years. She and her husband ran the Trading Post General Store and Auction House for many years in Warren.

She was born on March 23, 1939, in Warren, to Oscar R. Long and Nellie M. Knight. She married Don E. Slusher on May 12, 1962, in Warren. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include a daughter, Brenda J. Whitaker, of Warren; a son, Donald (Ralph) Slusher II, of Warren; two brothers, Jerry Long, of Marion, and James Long, of Warren; four sisters, Joyce Buck, of Warren, Joan (David) Tilden, of Huntington, Jacqueline Zinn, of Marion, and Judy Long, of Warren; six grandchildren, Noah Slusher, of Warren, Adam Slusher, of Van Buren, Kyler (Madison) Slusher, of Fort Wayne, Kylynn Slusher, of Warren, Jeremy Bowers, of Warren, and Angelica (Tim Holley) Bowers, of Lafontaine; three step-grandchildren, Shane (Nycole) Whitaker, of Wabash, Chad (Wednesday) Whitaker, of Wabash, and Ben (Megan) Whitaker, of Wabash; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sheryl S. Slusher; and a son-in-law, Scott Whitaker.

Calling will take place on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, from 2 to 8 p.m., at Glancy-H. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 203 N. Matilda St., Warren.

Calling will also take place on Thursday, May 13, 2021, from 11 a.m. to noon, with a funeral service to immediately follow at the funeral home. Rev. Dewey Zent will officiate and Rev. Steven Spencer will assist.

Burial will follow at Jones cemetery in rural Wells County.
