Michael J. Hanauer, 54, of Hartford City, IN, and with ties to Markle, IN, died Sunday, May 9, 2021, at 2:45 p.m., at his home in Jackson Township.
Mr. Hanauer was a 1985 graduate of Norwell High School. He received his associate's at Indiana Wesleyan University. He was a letter carrier for the Union City Post Office and was a member of the National Rifle Association.
He was born on Saturday, Oct. 29, 1966, in Bluffton, to Gerald J. and Barbara J. Wisel Hanauer. They survive in Markle. He married Laura Daily Hanauer on Oct. 24, 1992, at the Markle United Methodist Church in Markle. She survives in Hartford City.
Additional survivors include a son, Tristen Hanauer, of Hartford City; a daughter, Georgia Hanauer, of Hartford City; a brother, Kent (Stephanie) Hanauer, of Anderson; a sister, Stephanie Hanauer, of Gladstone, MI; and father and mother-in-law, Don and Marie Daily, of Hartford City.
Calling will take place on Thursday, May 13, 2021, from 3 to 8 p.m., at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home, 109 W. Windsor St., Montpelier.
A funeral service will take place on Friday, May 14, 2021, at 11 a.m., at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Haverstock Cemetery in Zanesville.
