Jerry Lee Snowden

Jerry Lee Snowden, age 84, of Elkhart, IN, and formerly of Huntington, IN, died Thursday, April 29, 2021, at Elkhart General Hospital.

Mr. Snowden attended Olivet Narazene University where he studied business. He and his four brothers formed the Snowden Brother Brass Quartet, traveling and playing for many years in churches all over Indiana. In business, he worked for 28 years in the life insurance industry.  He served as president of the State Association of Life Underwriters and achieved Million Dollar Roundtable honors numerous times.  After retiring from insurance, he began a second career in the automotive industry, from which he then retired.

He was born on Oct. 14, 1936 in Huntington, to Benjamin W. and Anna Snowden. He married Sharon Carpenter on June 20, 1959. She survives.

Additional survivors include four children, Klarc (Tanya) Snowden, of Cleveland, OH, Rhonda (Dusty) Imoo, of White Rock, British Columbia, Kameron (Sarah) Snowden, of Brownsburg, and Niccole Snowden, of Indianapolis; a brother, Ned (Mary) Snowden; 10 grandchildren, Brittany (Jamie) McDonald, Van Imoo, Jonah Imoo, Mak Imoo, Zoey Snowden, Kaije Guynn, Eli Snowden, Tajan Willoughby, Asjia John and Leah Strickland; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Robin Snowden, and a son, Benjamin Snowden.

A celebration of life service will take place on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at 2 p.m., at Elkhart Northside Church of the Nazarene, 53569 County Road 7, Elkhart. Sanctuary doors will open at 1 p.m. for family and 1:30 p.m. for all other attendees. Immediately following the service, all are invited to gather in the Connection Room at the church for a meal.
