Charles M. Poling

Charles M.  Poling, 85, of Huntington, died Thursday, May 20, 2021, at 12:35 p.m., at Parkview Huntington Hospital.

Mr. Poling graduated from Bippus High School with the class of 1953 and then enlisted in the U. S. Air Force. After completing boot camp at Sampson Air Force Base in Geneva, NY, he was sent to Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul, IL, for technical training in air craft electrical repair. His last assignment was at Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City, FL, where he was honorably discharged. He then attended Huntington College. He retired from M&S Industries of Huntington after many years. He was a member of New Hope United Brethren Church in Huntington.                                                    

He was born on Dec. 26, 1935, in Huntington, to George and Laura Mann Poling. He married Laura L. Kibler on May 20, 1962, in Lykens, OH. She preceded him in death on March 12, 2018.
    
Survivors include a son, Jud Poling, of Fort Wayne.

Calling will take place on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, from 10 a.m. to noon, at Bailey-Love Mortuary, Huntington. A funeral service will immediately follow with Rev. Amos Rawley officiating. Military honors will be provided by VFW Post No. 2689 of Huntington.

Burial will be in Gardens of Memory in Marion.
