Jim L. Warpup

Jim L. Warpup, 67, of Warren, IN, died Thursday, May 27, 2021, at his residence.

Mr. Warpup was a 1972 graduate of Huntington North High School. He was a lifetime farmer in Huntington and Wells counties. He was a member of the Warren Church of Christ and former member of the Markle Church of Christ. He had served as a Deacon at both churches.  He was also a member of the Huntington County Drainage Board for many years.

He was born on May 21, 1954, in Bluffton, to Harmon and Opa Fay Collins Warpup. He married Javonda Smalling on Jan. 22, 1972, in Markle. She survives.

Additional survivors include two sons, Brian (Nicole) Warpup, and Toby Warpup, both of Warren; a daughter, Melinda Haynes, of Warren; a sister, Jane (Dave) Day, of Markle; and five grandchildren, Hayley (Jared) Coolman, Ben Warpup, Hannah Warpup, Maleah Warpup and Trinity Warpup.

Calling will take place on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, from 3 to 8 p.m., at Markle Church of Christ, 455 E. Morse St., Markle.

A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at 10 a.m., at Markle Church of Christ, with Gerald O. Moreland and Ethan Stivers officiating.

Interment will take place at the Star of Hope Cemetery in rural Huntington County.
