Phylis June Pursifull, 91, of Warren, IN, and formerly of Elizabethtown, KY, died Thursday, June 10, 2021, at Heritage Pointe of Warren.Mrs. Pursifull was a 1947 graduate of Warren High School. She was an office worker in civil service at Fort Monroe, VA. She had also worked at the Jefferson Proving Ground. She retired from Fort Knox, KY, in 1988. While living at Heritage Pointe in Warren, she assisted in the library cataloging books, delivering books to residents and often reading to them. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Warren and former member of the Severns Valley Baptist Church in Elizabethtown, KY where she served in their bus ministry for 20 years. She was born on June 17, 1929, in Huntington County, to William C. and Dortha B. Hoover Sheets. She married Doyle Pursifull, Jr., on Oct. 30, 1948, in Markle. He preceded her in death on Aug. 3, 2009. Survivors include a sister, Gloria Ann (Robert) Jackson, of Markle; and several nieces and nephews. Calling will take place on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, from 10 to 11 a.m., at the Myers Funeral Home, Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee St., Markle. A funeral service will follow the visitation.
