Marilyn “Sue” Widelski, 75, of Huntington, IN, died Monday, June 21, 2021, at Visiting Nurse & Hospice in Fort Wayne.Mrs. Widelski graduated in 1964 from South Bend Washington High School. She was employed at Noll Printing and in the auditor’s office at the Huntington County Courthouse. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Huntington, a member of the Pastoral Council, Open Door Coordinator, baker and deliverer, and a volunteer for Love, INC. She was born on Nov. 24, 1945, in Mishawaka, to Lawrence F. and Mariellen Eberly Nix. She married Richard Widelski on May 4, 1968. He survives in Huntington. Additional survivors include three daughters, Christi (Michael) McElhaney, of Huntington, Jacki (Jeff) Rude, of Fort Wayne, and Vicki (Jon) Wirth, of Fishers; a son, Stephen (Gelyn) Widelski, of Leesburg, VA; a sister, Ann Moretz, of San Antonio, TX; a brother, Joel Nix, of San Antonio, TX; and 12 grandchildren, Brittany Scher, Courtney Scher, Lindsey Scher, Graham Scher, Jake Rude, Zach Rude, Malori Rude, Isaac Rude, Max Wirth, Maddie Wirth, Andrew McElhaney and Mitchell McElhaney.
Calling will take place on Thursday, June 24, 2021, from 4 to 7 p.m., at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, Huntington, with Recitation of the Rosary at 3:30 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, June 25, 2021, at 10 a.m., at St. Mary Catholic Church, 903 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, with Rev. Thomas Zehr, Rev. Stephen Colchin and Rev. Tony Steinacker presiding.A private burial will take place at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington, at a later date.
