Larry L. Poling, 81, of Huntington, IN, died Sunday, July 4, 2021, at the Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
Mr. Poling was a 1958 graduate of Marion High School. He was a retired Law Enforcement officer, with 30 years on the Indiana State Police and 20 years on the Huntington County Sheriff Department.
He was born on March 20, 1940, in Elwood, to Robert and Betty Jean Norton Poling. He married Karen Abner on Dec. 14, 2001. She survives in Huntington.
Additional survivors include one son, Lance Poling, of Sylvania, OH; two daughters, Lesa Crawford, of Fort Wayne, and Laura (Lyle) Juillerat, of Huntington; two step-sons, Jason (Jenny) Keefer, of St. Augustine, FL, and Brad Keefer, of Fort Wayne; one step-daughter, Sarah Wilson, of Fort Wayne; one brother, Terry (Maxine) Poling, of Jonesboro; seven grandchildren, Ryan (Allison) Crawford, Mark (Sam) Crawford, Sara (Corey Tom) Crawford, Logan (Kayla) Juillerat, Lucas (Shelby) Juillerat, Lextin Keefer and Bjorn Wilson; and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Zane Crawford.
There will be a private service held at a later date. McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 Jefferson St., Huntington, is in charge of arrangements.
