Jackie Dee 'Jack' Bartrom

Jackie Dee "Jack" Bartrom, 68, of Marion, and formerly of Huntington, died Dec. 11, 2008, at his home.

Mr. Bartrom retired from Dana Corporation, Spicer Division, Marion, where he had been employed for 36 years, much of that time as a lathe operator. He worked with his father as a brick mason for several years while also working at Model Engineering and H.K. Porter. He attended Huntington Township High School and later received his GED. He attended Incarnate Word Fellowship.

He was born June 29, 1940, at Browns Corner, Huntington County, to Frederick Wallace and Clara June Divelbiss Bartrom. He married Kay Ann Gardner July 31, 1960, at the Lancaster Wesleyan Church. His wife survives.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Melo-Dee L. Perez and Mar-Dee O'Bryhim, both of Marion; a son, Jackie-Dee Gardner Bartrom, of LaFontaine; and six grandchildren.

A funeral service was held Dec. 15, 2008, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, Marion, with Rev. Howard Capps officiating. Burial was at Mt. Etna Cemetery.
