Phyllis Jean Oswalt, 86, of Huntington, IN, died Monday, July 5, 2021, at 12:23 a.m., at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Oswalt retired from Memcor in 1996 as a group leader after 45 years of service. She was a member of the New Hope Ministries in Roanoke.
She was born on June 29, 1935, in Ligon, KY, to Crit and Dixie Johnson Newsome. She married Larry T. Oswalt on Dec. 3, 1954, in Andrews. He preceded her in death on Feb. 13, 2006.
Survivors include two daughters, Joyce A. (Jim) Webb, of Whitley County, and Cindy (Larry) Williams, of Huntington; a son, Scott Oswalt, of Huntington; two brothers, Taylor Newsome, of Huntington, and Ted Newsome, of Andrews; two sisters, Sue Burke, of Ashland, KY, and Elzada Henson, of Huntington; five grandchildren, Chad Williams, Jason Williams, Ian Webb, Ashlie Buzzard and Adam Oswalt; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Calling will take place on Saturday, July 10, 2021, from 9 a.m. to noon, at Bailey-Love Mortuary, Huntington. A funeral service will immediately follow with Rev. Jim Graham officiating.
Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Huntington.
