Melvin Donald Ramsey, 86, of Andrews, IN, died Monday, July 5, 2021, at his home.
Mr. Ramsey served in the U. S. Army in the artillery division. He was a blacksmith and a welder. He was also a Jehovah’s Witness.
He was born on Nov. 30, 1934, in Uniontown, KS, to Frank and Leona Ramsey. He married Clarece Maria Craft on April 3, 1971. She survives.
Additional survivors include five chidren, Lea (Leona) Ramsey, Jeff Craft, Vickie (Ron) Hayes and Linda (Mike) Merckx; 17 grandchildren, Elaina Ramsey, David Gillie, Ryan Gillie, Bethany Ianuzzi, Kaylena Ianuzzi, Joshua Craft, Jessica Craft, Jacqueline (Mickie) Smith, Dennaie Hayden, Doug Bailey, Duell Bailey, Destin Robbins, Elizabeth Merckx, Maddox Merckx, Lanxton Merckx, Corbin Harris and Kyah Harris; 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie Karla Haney, and two grandchildren, Daylon Beeks and Rendell Harris.
Private services will take place. Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd. Elkhart, is handling arrangements.
