Leonard Jack Dinius, 91, formerly of Huntington, IN, died Thursday July 1, 2021.
Mr. Dinius was a student at Huntington College prior to being drafted. He served in the U. S. Marine Corps. He worked at Dinius Insurance Agency in Huntington until his retirement. He spent more than 25 years as an official of Huntington County Baseball. He also coached and managed in the league, served on the field board and was league president for 14 years. He also served as a member of the league’s board of directors.
He was born on April 12, 1930, in Huntington, to Russell S. Dinius and Dorothy I. Freeman. He married Madalyn A. (Hack) Dinius on Dec. 13, 1953. She preceded him in death after 67 years of marriage. Together they had three children, Randall Duane Dinius, David Kent Dinius and Ann Michelle Dinius.
Burial took place at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix, AZ, on July 12, 2021.
