Betty L. McHenry, 86, of Milford, IN, and formerly of Huntington County, IN, died Saturday, July 17, 2021, at 10:47 a.m., at The Waters of Greencastle.
Mrs. McHenry graduated from Huntertown High School with the class of 1953. She had worked for over 48 years in banking and was employed by Farmers Bank, Lincoln National, Fifth Third and Midwest Commerce. She spent the last 25 years at Lake City Bank of Warsaw, where she retired as Senior Vice President and Auditor in 2008. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star for over 68 years and a Past Marton, Past Queen of Daughter of the Nile. She was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.
She was born on April 15, 1935, in Allen County, to George and Velma Ferguson Lincoln. She married Kenneth G. McHenry on Dec. 19, 1971, in Fort Wayne. He preceded her in death on April 29, 1993.
Survivors include two daughters, Diana Surfus, of Milford, and Donna (David) Rohlfer, of Cincinnati, OH; a son, John Surfus, of Hamilton; a sister, Barbara (Kenneth) Fritz, of Fort Wayne; two brothers, Bill (Cheri) Lincoln, of Bradenton, FL, and David Lincoln, of Ohio; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, James Surfus.
Calling will take place on Thursday, July 22, 2021, from 10 to 11 a.m., at Bailey-Love Mortuary, Huntington. A funeral service will immediately follow with Rev. Jerry Brooks officiating.
Entombment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Huntington.
